Dmob Productions officially entered the movie-making world in 2002, but these young individuals have been making films since 1996. Friends since junior high, the guys went on to enhance their knowledge of film and learn to express their artistic views in ways they never thought possible. Fast forward to 2005... original founders, Zak Zeman and Brandon Dermer, decided to take this thing that they love to the next level. Dmob Productions was formed in group of aspiring artists who had an appreciation for the arts and a dream. A dream that a truly independent production studio could exist, and projects that normally wouldn't be made within the confines of the Hollywood spectrum could be a reality. Are we opposed to the Hollywood system? Absolutely not! Some of today's best films are at least financed or released by Major Studios. But we work with what we got, and usually that's about $10.57. We feel that no matter what, our message needs to be communicated, and this is how our lives and business ethic operate. Our influences come from our diverse tastes, favorite films and filmmakers of which there are too many to list, but without a single one, we may not be doing the things we are today. Thank you to everyone who has helped us realize our dream and have helped us to accomplish it. We want to exit from this dinner party with a tip from a filmmaker that we respect with a quote that we respect even more: "Tom Landry said it: It's all in the preparation. I hate the Dallas Cowboys, and I'm not too crazy about him and his short-brimmed hat. But he hit the nail on the head. It is in the preparation. Do mountains of preparation kill spontaneity? I've found that it's just the opposite. When you know what you're doing, you feel much freer to improvise." - Sidney Lumet DMOB consists of: Zak Zeman, Brandon Dermer, Justin McClain, Brandon Smith and Arthur Spector. |
